Senior Manager, Risk & Execution

Responsible for ensuring the effective execution of risk management activities, regulatory requirements, and control frameworks across the Business Clients portfolio. 

Risk and Compliance Management

• Lead the implementation and embedding of operational risk, compliance, and governance frameworks across the business.
• Monitor, identify, and escalate emerging risks, control weaknesses, incidents, breaches, losses, and compliance concerns. Ensure timely implementation of corrective actions arising from audits, assurance reviews, and compliance monitoring activities.  
• Drive adherence to regulatory requirements including KYC, AML, data privacy, conduct risk, and other applicable banking regulations.

Control Environment and Operational Excellence

• Conduct quality assurance reviews, operational effectiveness assessments, and control testing activities. Oversee business continuity planning and ensure operational resilience within the business.
• Monitor adherence to policies, procedures, and operational standards across Business Clients. Drive the adoption and effective use of risk management and operational control tools.  

Risk Reporting and Insights

• Analyze risk trends, incidents, audit findings, and operational losses to identify root causes and emerging themes. Prepare and present risk reports, dashboards, and management information for business leadership forums.
• Provide actionable recommendations to address identified gaps and strengthen the control environment. Track and monitor the implementation of agreed remediation actions and report on progress.

Stakeholder Engagement and Advisory

• Partner with business leaders to ensure effective implementation of risk and compliance requirements.

Leadership and Capability Building

• Lead, coach, and develop teams to strengthen risk awareness and compliance capabilities.
• Promote a culture of accountability, ethical conduct, and proactive risk management.

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Auditing, Law, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years' relevant experience within banking or financial services.
• 5-7 years' experience within Business Banking, Commercial Banking, Operational Risk, Compliance, Audit, or related functions.
• Proven experience implementing and managing risk and compliance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of operational risk management, governance, regulatory compliance, and control environments.
• Experience in managing change initiatives, remediation programs, and regulatory projects.  

Technical Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of banking regulations, risk management frameworks, and compliance requirements.
• Advanced risk assessment, risk reporting, and control evaluation capabilities. Ability to interpret risk data and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
• Strong project management and change management capabilities.
