Operations Manager - Oil, Gas & Chemicals

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and optimize our Oil, Gas & Chemicals operations.

Key Responsabilities 

• Lead and oversee all operational activities to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality service delivery while maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

• Translate business strategy and objectives into operational plans, resource allocation, budgets, performance targets and measurable actions.

• Manage, coach and develop Supervisors, Coordinators and Inspectors, supporting recruitment, onboarding, competency development, performance management and succession planning.

• Ensure effective workforce planning and resource allocation to support routine, urgent and after-hours operations while maintaining service continuity.

• Oversee inspection, sampling, measurement, documentation and reporting activities to ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory and quality requirements.

• Support the successful implementation of new projects and client contracts by ensuring operational readiness, risk assessment, resource availability and execution planning.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders, proactively managing service issues, escalations and complaints while driving effective corrective actions.

• Monitor operational performance through audits, field observations, performance reviews and data analysis, ensuring continuous improvement and operational excellence.

• Develop, implement and maintain operational procedures, work instructions and control systems, ensuring consistency, compliance and adherence to industry best practices.

• Deliver and promote technical training, coaching and competency verification programs to maintain a highly qualified and authorized workforce.

• Control operational expenditure, resource utilization, equipment usage and subcontracted services to optimize efficiency, profitability and service quality.

• Monitor and evaluate subcontractors and suppliers to ensure continued competence, integrity, confidentiality, quality and compliance with applicable standards.

• Support commercial and finance teams by contributing to contract implementation, billing readiness, cost control and resolution of operational issues impacting payment recovery.

• Identify opportunities to improve operational performance through innovation, technology adoption, process optimization and industry best practices.

• Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum, Chemistry, Engineering, Marine Studies, Logistics, Operations Management or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in Oil, Gas & Chemicals inspection, testing, terminals, marine cargo operations or related industries.
• Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or management position.
• Strong knowledge of petroleum inspection, sampling, quality and quantity control processes.
• Proven leadership and people management experience.
• Strong commercial awareness and customer orientation.
• Fluent in English and French.
• Willingness to support operations outside standard working hours when required.
