Data Scientist Decision Troopers / AI Advisory

At Lely, we are looking for a Data Scientist who is excited about turning complex data into practical value for dairy farmers. As part of our Digital Farming team in Maassluis, you will use data science and AI techniques to transform data from our robots into actionable insights and advice that help farmers manage their farms more effectively.

Working with data from thousands of connected farms worldwide, you will identify patterns, trends, and opportunities that improve animal health, farm efficiency, productivity, and sustainability. You will develop predictive models and analytical solutions that convert robot and farm data into meaningful recommendations, helping farmers make better decisions and proactively address potential issues before they impact their operations.

Together with other data scientists and domain experts, you will translate business challenges into data-driven solutions. By turning data into tangible advice, you will directly contribute to making farmers' daily work easier and helping them get more value from their Lely solutions every day.

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in predictive modeling and translating data into tangible business outcomes.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI including LLMs and AI agents.
• A critical mindset and intellectual curiosity; you enjoy asking questions such as "why?" and "what if?".
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and simple way.
• A proactive attitude; you take initiative rather than wait for direction.
• A prototyping mindset: rapidly testing ideas, learning fast, and focusing on what delivers value.
