Local Data Capture (LDC) Developer

Anticipated Contract End Date: 6-month contract
Work set up: Hybrid (2 days per week in office)
Clearance required: BPSS required

Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for an LDC Developer to join the LDC (Local Data Capture) capability within the wider CESA engineering environment. This role is ideal for a motivated and adaptable developer with a strong software development background who is eager to learn and work within a complex legacy estate. The successful candidate will support the delivery, maintenance, and stability of business-critical HMRC services while collaborating with engineering, delivery, and service teams to ensure the continued success of the CESA platform.

What you will do:

• Develop and support LDC components within the CESA estate.
• Contribute to the delivery of application changes while ensuring quality and stability across software releases.
• Investigate and resolve application defects and production issues.
• Collaborate with Delivery Managers, engineers, and service teams to align development activities with delivery objectives and live service priorities.
• Adhere to established development processes, governance controls, and engineering standards within a legacy technology environment.
• Build knowledge of the LDC platform and associated technologies to support ongoing development and maintenance.
• Support the stability and continuous improvement of business-critical HMRC services.
• Maintain high standards of software quality, reliability, and operational performance.

• Strong software development background with a willingness to learn and support legacy technologies.
• Experience with or exposure to VB6.
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0.
• Experience with NuMega DevPartner Studio.
• Experience developing or supporting VB6 ActiveX Components.
• Experience with VBA.
• Experience working with integration technologies and development tooling, including SOAP Toolkits, Team Foundation Server (TFS), XML, Microsoft Edge, and Integrated Single Sign On (ISSO).
• Experience working within controlled, production-critical environments is advantageous.
• Exposure to or willingness to learn GovRules Client.
• Exposure to or willingness to learn GovRules Integrated Design Environment.
• Exposure to or willingness to learn GovRules Native Language (Java-derived).
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
