Junior Analytics Engineer

Location: London, Hybrid – one day a week in the office

We're looking for a Junior Analytics Engineer to join our Analytics team and help build the data foundations that power decisions across Gousto. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone at the start of their analytics engineering career to learn from experienced engineers while getting hands-on with real data models, pipelines and tools like dbt and Databricks in a modern cloud environment.

You'll work closely with our Analytics Engineers and stakeholders across the business, learning how to turn business questions into reliable, well-structured data models. You'll be supported and mentored as you grow your skills, while also getting the chance to explore newer capabilities – including how semantic layers and AI/agentic tools can help teams query and interact with data in more intuitive ways. What you'll do

• Learn the data: Build a strong understanding of our data, with support from senior engineers.
• Support stakeholders: Help teams across the business translate their questions into practical, data-driven solutions, working alongside more experienced colleagues.
• Help maintain data pipelines: Support the development and upkeep of data ingestion pipelines, learning good practice around automation, reliability and handling large or complex datasets.
• Build data models: Contribute to building and maintaining data models and dashboards, learning how to translate business requirements into clean, well-structured data.
• Support analytics engineering practices: Get hands-on with dbt workflows, Git, GitHub and CI/CD pipelines, and help keep our analytics engineering practices scalable and reliable.
• Collaborate with product teams: Work with cross-functional squads to understand their data needs and help improve the quality and accessibility of the data they rely on.
• Semantic modelling: Make use of semantic models to enable self-service through agents and LLMs 

Who you are

• Early analytics or data experience: Some experience with SQL and data analysis (through a role, project, placement or degree), with an eagerness to develop your skills further.
• Curious about the tools: An interest in technologies such as SQL, Python, dbt, Databricks and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) – you don't need to be an expert, but you're keen to learn.
• Open to AI and agentic workflows: A genuine interest in how AI and agentic tools are changing data work, and enthusiasm for exploring how these can be used to help build smarter data architecture and workflows.
• Good communicator: Able to explain your thinking clearly to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Proactive and keen to learn: A self-starter mindset, comfortable asking questions, seeking feedback and learning from more experienced teammates.
• Organised: Able to manage your workload and priorities, even as you're still building experience.
