Graduate Engineer – Civil Engineer

As a Graduate Engineer, you will join our structured Graduate Programme, designed to accelerate your professional development and provide exposure to some of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects, focusing on Energy and Sustainable Projects

You will work alongside experienced engineers and project managers, gaining hands-on experience in design, construction, and delivery phases. Rotations will allow you to explore different disciplines and understand the full lifecycle of major projects.

Key Responsibilities

Essential

• Good understanding of core civil engineering principles, including earthworks, drainage, geotechnics, structures and infrastructure design.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, survey information, specifications and technical data.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Ability to manage assigned tasks and work to agreed deadlines.
• Willingness to undertake site visits and travel as required.

Desirable

• Internship, placement or project experience within an engineering consultancy, contractor, developer, utility or infrastructure organisation.
• Exposure to renewable energy projects, particularly wind, solar, BESS or grid infrastructure.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
• Experience with GIS software such as QGIS or ArcGIS.
• Exposure to ground investigation, earthworks, drainage, road design or foundation engineering.
• Awareness of Eurocodes and relevant Irish/UK engineering standards.
• Understanding of construction health and safety requirements.

Full driving licence

• Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil Engineering (minimum 2.1) from an accredited institution.
• Level 9 postgraduate qualification in Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, Environmental or Energy Engineering would be advantageous.
• Degree meeting, or capable of meeting, the academic requirements for progression toward Chartered Engineer status with Engineers Ireland or an equivalent professional institution.
