Traffic Coordinator

Purpose of the Role

The Traffic Coordinator is responsible for managing and optimizing all transportation processes for the plant, ensuring cost-efficient, compliant, and reliable inbound and outbound material flows. The role ensures alignment with carrier performance, transportation strategy, and customer delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Transportation Management

Coordinate daily inbound and outbound transportation activities.
Ensure timely booking, dispatching, and tracking of shipments.
Monitor transportation performance (on-time pickup/delivery, transit time adherence).
Resolve transportation disruptions and escalate risks impacting supply or delivery performance.

Carrier & Freight Management

Serve as primary point of contact for carriers and freight forwarders.
Monitor carrier performance and support freight negotiations and contract compliance.
Ensure optimal mode selection balancing cost, service, and urgency.

Compliance & Documentation

Maintain compliance with transportation regulations and corporate policies.
Support audits related to freight and transportation activities.

Team Leadership & Development

Coordinate and guide transportation support personnel
Promote accountability and service-oriented mindset in daily operations.

Performance & Continuous Improvement

Monitor freight cost performance and identify cost optimization opportunities (Liquid utilization-Linear utilization monitoring).
Lead root cause analysis for transportation failures or premium freight occurrences.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

Ensure safe loading/unloading coordination and transportation risk mitigation.
Guarantee adherence to export control and trade compliance standards.

Educación: Licenciatura en Logística, Gestión de la Cadena de Suministro, Administración de Empresas o área relacionada.

Experiencia: +3 años de experiencia en coordinación de transporte, logística o gestión de transporte.

Habilidades

Capacidad para recopilar, organizar y analizar datos logísticos.
Conocimiento básico de herramientas de software logístico y sistemas ERP.
Habilidad para identificar problemas operativos y proponer soluciones a nivel de seguimiento.
Organización y atención al detalle para mantener registros precisos y cumplir con procedimientos internos.
Conocimientos generales de regulaciones aduanales y cumplimiento comercial.

Competencias Clave

Pensamiento analítico y crítico para evaluar el desempeño logístico y apoyar en la identificación de oportunidades de mejora.
Buenas habilidades de comunicación y trabajo en equipo para colaborar con diferentes áreas internas.
Capacidad de adaptarse a un entorno dinámico y aprender rápidamente nuevos procesos y sistemas.
Proactividad y responsabilidad en el seguimiento de tareas y documentación.
