Resident Safety Officer (Construction)

Work Location : HKUST, Clear Water Bay, Hong Kong

Duties:  The duties of the Resident Safety Officer (Construction) shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

• Responsible for on-site reporting to the Client and Contract Administrator, and carry out assigned duties.
• Carry out routine site safety supervision for building construction.
• Identify unsafe acts and physical conditions across site operations and ensure immediate corrective action is taken.
• Ensure contractor site safety precautionary measures implementation.
• Investigate and record all near-misses, incidents and accident cases, and prepare detailed reports, recommend preventive measures, and track corrective action items to closure.
• Ensure site compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and contract requirements.
• Carry out ad-hoc inspections and attend relevant meetings.

The minimum qualifications required for the post of Resident Safety Officer (Construction) shall be as follows:

• Registered as Safety Officer and Safety Auditor under Labour Department.
• Minimum 10 years’ solid construction site experience.
• Hospital project, or client-side or client facing project experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices.

• Fluent in both spoken and written English and Chinese
• Need to be on duty on Saturday and Sunday with time off compensation as assigned.
