About the role

We are looking for a resourceful and driven professional to join the India office of DESRI, i.e., DESRI India Private Limited, based in Hyderabad, India. The successful candidate will be a part of the EPC Support Team [MC1.1]and will regularly interact with the U.S. and Hyderabad-based teams, as well as external parties. This is a small, inclusive, highly skilled team responsible for supporting DESRI’s portfolio storage projects within a dynamic environment that values collaboration, thoughtful problem solving, and attention to detail.

What you'll do
In this role, you will serve as a technical resource for BESS design and commissioning activities, supporting the reliability and performance of DESRI's storage fleet from design through operation.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing 30/60/90% BESS engineering design packages — civil, electrical, and structural — and providing technical comments to ensure alignment with NFPA 855, NEC Article 706, and UL 9540/9540A requirements.
• Actively maintain technical library with vendors; Evaluating battery system architecture, including rack/module layout, BMS hierarchy, PCS sizing, MV transformer integration, and balance-of-plant (BOP) design.
• Providing BESS/PCS QA/QC support, including inspection, technical exhibit preparation, and testing activities.
• Supporting procurement technical evaluations for battery systems, PCS/inverters, transformers, and switchgear, and assessing OEM submittals against project specifications.
• Technical support for development and origination activities, including early submittals, specification reviews and RFIs.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should hold –

• B.Tech/M.Tech in Electrical Engineering or any relevant field with 2-6 years of experience in BESS design, commissioning, or technical asset management for utility-scale energy storage or solar + storage projects.
• Working knowledge of BESS subcomponents: battery modules and racks, BMS architecture, PCS/inverters, EMS/SCADA systems, HVAC/chiller systems, fire suppression systems, MV transformers, and switchgear.
• Familiarity with relevant US codes and standards: NFPA 855, NEC Article 706, UL 9540/9540A, NFPA 70E, IEEE 80, and NERC reliability standards.
• Experience analyzing operational or commissioning data to diagnose system faults or performance deviations in complex electrical systems.
• Hands-on commissioning experience with large-format lithium-ion battery systems, including BMS/PCS/EMS integration, FAT/SAT execution, and capacity testing.
