About the Role:

We are seeking leaders and entrepreneurs who are motivated by a passion to change the world for the better. In this role you will have access to resources including X and Alphabet’s extensive network and convening abilities, state-of-the-art prototyping facilities and laboratories, proprietary tools, ‘moonshot compost’, world-class technical and business expert collaborators, and unique innovation processes to help you explore and develop breakthrough technologies.

You will align with our earliest existing investigations and have the ability to develop ideas from inception at X.

How you will make 10x impact: 

• Use a combination of critical thinking, networking, research, and prototyping to propose and assess potential breakthrough technology-enabled projects
• Collaborate with Xers to develop moonshot ideas. Progressively de-risk ideas both from technical and business perspectives
• Develop and refine your moonshot story and pitch as your advancements are made
• Leverage resources at X and Alphabet in your pursuit of creating moonshots

What you should have: 

• 10 years experience as a leader or entrepreneur in a technical industry
• Experience playing a key role in successfully taking new tech from idea inception to product launch, in particular deep tech, while working in a startup environment. You are biased to action and will “roll up your sleeves”
• Demonstrated ability to create external partnerships around early-stage technology 
• Ability to build an A+ team. You have a track record in spotting, attracting and retaining top talent across functions and levels
• Thrive in ambiguity and able to manage your own work with tenacity and a sense of urgency

It’d be great if you also had these: 

• Demonstrated ability to de-risk a new product idea from both the technical and business perspectives. 
• Able to effectively communicate both technical and non-technical information to mixed audiences
• Motivated by purpose and passion; you fall in love with problems, not solutions.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $221,000 - $328,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
