Staff/Sr. System Engineer (AIoT Camera)

【About the role】

We are seeking a Staff/Sr. System Engineer to drive the end-to-end system integration of our Furbo AIoT camera products (Furbo 360, Cat Camera, and Mini 360). This role sits at the intersection of software, firmware, and hardware, and strengthens our team's depth in IoT system integration.
You will work side-by-side with our ODM partners as a technical counterpart, driving deep engineering discussions across every domain of the product — from power design and antenna performance to speaker tuning and factory test coverage. Your mission: make sure every Furbo device we develop, ship, and maintain works flawlessly as a complete system in the hands of millions of pet parents worldwide.
This is a high-ownership role in a Silicon Valley-style culture — you won't just file issues to vendors; you'll challenge root-cause analyses, dig into failures yourself, and drive problems to closure.

【 Who you are 】

• Solid SW/FW foundation: 5+ years in embedded system development on consumer electronics, proficient in Embedded Linux and C/C++. You can trace issues through the firmware stack and contribute to code-level discussions within the team.
• System integrator at heart: You think in terms of the whole product, not a single module — from early-stage platform evaluation and HW/FW bring-up to integration and validation. Comfortable reading schematics and forming hypotheses that span firmware, electrical, and mechanical boundaries.
• Broad cross-domain experience and genuine curiosity (T-shaped): You'll be supported by domain consultants and ODM RD teams, so deep expertise isn't required — but you should be able to understand, discuss, and make judgment calls across areas like EE (power, components), RF (Wi-Fi/BLE, antenna), acoustics (mic/speaker), and ME/optics (thermal, camera module).

Nice-to-Have:

• IP camera domain knowledge (SoC, codec pipeline, streaming, ISP tuning)
• Edge AI / NPU-accelerated platforms
• Hardware reliability and EMC testing experience (e.g., RSE, ESD, EOS)
• Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate analysis, documentation, and daily workflows

【 What you'll do 】

• Drive system integration: Lead HW/FW integration and bring-up for new AIoT camera platforms; define system-level requirements and validate that firmware, electronics, mechanics, RF, and acoustics work together as designed.
• Lead cross-domain troubleshooting: Investigate complex field and factory issues that cross domain boundaries (e.g., power-induced reboots, RF desense, audio artifacts, component-level failures) — define test plans and hypotheses, and drive verification either hands-on or through external resources.
• Drive sustaining engineering: Monitor field reliability and RMA trends with Customer Support & BI, prioritize corrective actions, and ensure fixes are properly validated and deployed across the installed base.
• Support new product development: Partner with embedded SW, PM, and QA on platform selection, technical feasibility, spec trade-offs, DFM reviews, and Home Test / pilot-run coordination.
