About the Role
The Baltimore Banner is seeking a versatile, ambitious sports reporter to cover Baltimore-area sports with depth, creativity, and rigor. From the Orioles’ clubhouse to boxing gyms, horse tracks, and college arenas, you will produce stories that inform, entertain, and resonate with readers—while helping grow our subscriber base.
This is a role for a journalist who can break news with authority, craft deeply reported profiles and enterprise pieces, and combine storytelling with data-driven insights. You’ll cover the business of sports, explore cultural and community impact, and help readers understand both the game and the world around it.

Looking for a way to stand out? Submit a resume and cover letter outlining your vision for balancing Orioles coverage with other sports topics that will best serve subscribers. Include 2-3 samples of stories that best illustrate your storytelling skills.
Additional Information:
Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by several factors including experience, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We periodically review all teammates pay to ensure a great compensation package that is fair and equal across the board.
