Manager, Site Reliability Engineering

We work in a hybrid mode 3+2, with a minimum of 3 days at the office (with mandatory Tuesdays and Wednesdays) and a maximum of 2 days at the home office.

The location of our office is Holandská 873/6, Brno – Štýřice, 639 00.

We employ only via an employment contract – full-time employment (HPP).

Role Overview

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineering Manager to join our Site Reliability Engineering team at SolarWinds.

This role is for a hands-on frontline manager who brings strong technical depth, solid people leadership, and a clear focus on reliability, automation, and customer experience.

You will lead engineers who own cloud infrastructure, platform automation, infrastructure as code, operational readiness, and service reliability. You should be comfortable setting direction, managing execution, improving engineering practices, and staying close enough to the technical details to make sound decisions and remove blockers.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of site reliability engineers to deliver reliable and scalable platform operations.
• Own team roadmap planning and align infrastructure investments with engineering and business priorities.
• Partner with product, engineering, security, and support teams to improve platform reliability, scalability, and customer experience.
• Drive service availability, performance, monitoring, and operational readiness across production environments.
• Establish and refine operational processes, including incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Support automation and infrastructure improvements that reduce manual effort and increase service reliability.
• Use metrics, service objectives, and operational insights to prioritize work and improve outcomes.
• Hire and retain strong engineering talent while building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or a related field.
• 2+ years of people management or technical team leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), distributed systems, and production operations at scale.
• Experience building and scaling operational capabilities through automation, standardization, and sustainable SRE practices.
• Hands-on experience with observability practices, including monitoring, alerting, logging, and incident management.
• Solid understanding of containerized environments and modern deployment practices.
• Ability to lead through ambiguity, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively across engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience automating toil and operational work to improve reliability, efficiency, and engineering productivity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
