Role Mission

The Web Experience Lead  will own Paystand’s marketing website as a strategic digital product and growth platform. This person will set the web strategy and roadmap, improve how buyers discover and engage with Paystand, and ensure the website delivers against business goals while maintaining a high bar for user experience, performance, scalability, and quality. The Web Experience Lead owns how business priorities are translated into the website, ensuring every experience balances customer needs, business goals, technical quality, scalability, and long-term maintainability.

This role has meaningful decision ownership over web strategy, experience standards, roadmap prioritization, and implementation approach. The Web Experience Lead will evaluate competing needs, make thoughtful tradeoffs, and provide clear direction on how the website should evolve. This is a senior individual-contributor role for someone who can move fluidly between strategy and execution. The ideal candidate can lead a major site initiative, make informed UX and technical decisions, analyze conversion performance, and get hands-on when needed. The Web Experience Lead is Paystand’s primary full-time owner of the website, but will not operate alone. The role works closely with a web agency, designers, copywriters, Product Marketing, Marketing Automation, Organic Growth, and other cross-functional partners to deliver against the roadmap.

They will also bring an AI-forward mindset to the role, using AI and emerging technologies to accelerate analysis, prototyping, production, experimentation, QA, and optimization while identifying new ways AI can improve Paystand’s digital experience.

Key Responsibilities

Web Strategy & Digital Experience

  • Own the website experience strategy, roadmap, and ongoing evolution of Paystand’s marketing website.
  • Translate business priorities and customer insights into cohesive digital experiences that support marketing objectives.
  • Own information architecture, navigation, user journeys, page hierarchy, and conversion paths.
  • Evaluate incoming web needs, recommend the right solution, and prioritize work based on business impact, customer value, effort, and technical considerations.
  • Lead major web initiatives including redesigns, new product experiences, conversion programs, and platform improvements.
  • Ensure the website maintains a high bar for UX, accessibility, responsive design, brand consistency, and experience quality.
  • Use AI and agentic workflows to improve the speed and quality of research, prototyping, production, analytics, QA, experimentation, and web operations.

Conversion, Experimentation & Analytics

  • Own the website experience required to support conversion optimization initiatives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement and evaluate experiments.
  • Improve high-value buyer journeys through UX, information architecture, page design, forms, and interaction design.
  • Use behavioral analytics and experimentation results to continuously improve website experiences.
  • Use analytics, behavioral data, research, experimentation, and AI-assisted analysis to identify friction and guide decisions.
  • Establish website performance reporting and translate results into clear recommendations.
  • Define web experience and technical guardrails for personalization and experimentation.
  • Determine how successful experiments and personalized experiences should be incorporated into the permanent website.

Platform, Performance & Governance

  • Own the marketing CMS, website architecture, component system, governance, and publishing standards.
  • Maintain strong site performance, Core Web Vitals, accessibility, technical SEO, reliability, and cross-device quality.
  • Establish scalable standards for page creation, components, QA, tracking, and site maintenance.
  • Identify technical debt and recommend improvements that increase performance, scalability, and operating efficiency.
  • Manage website releases and coordinate execution across the web agency and internal partners.
  • Evaluate web tools and technologies as business needs evolve.

Cross-Functional & Hands-On Leadership

  • Serve as the strategic web partner across Marketing and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead tradeoff and prioritization discussions across competing web needs.
  • Provide clear direction in ambiguous situations and build alignment around the best path forward.
  • Communicate UX, technical, and business decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Direct and coordinate work across agency, design, content, technical, and marketing partners.
  • Stay close enough to execution to build or edit pages, QA releases, review analytics, troubleshoot issues, develop prototypes or wireframes, and unblock delivery when needed.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in web strategy, digital experience, growth, UX, CRO, web production, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience owning meaningful website initiatives from strategy through launch, measurement, and iteration.
  • Strong experience with CMS platforms; HubSpot CMS experience is highly valuable.
  • Deep understanding of conversion optimization, website analytics, user journeys, and experimentation.
  • Strong foundation in UX, information architecture, responsive design, accessibility, and digital experience best practices.
  • Working knowledge of technical SEO, website performance, Core Web Vitals, analytics instrumentation, HTML/CSS, and modern web-development concepts.
  • Experience translating business objectives and customer insights into prioritized web roadmaps.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Experience directing or coordinating agencies, designers, developers, content teams, or other delivery partners.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to make clear recommendations from imperfect information.
  • Hands-on comfort working in CMS, analytics, testing, and web-production environments.
  • Hands-on fluency with modern AI tools and a track record of applying AI to improve the speed, quality, or effectiveness of digital work.

Preferred Experience

  • B2B SaaS, fintech, payments, enterprise software, or another complex B2B buyer journey.
  • HubSpot CMS and the broader HubSpot ecosystem.
  • Personalization or experimentation platforms such as Webeo, Optimizely, VWO, Mutiny, or similar tools.
  • Behavioral analytics, session replay, heatmapping, or user-research tools.
  • Multi-product, multi-audience, or international web experience.
  • Experience working effectively with external web agencies or development partners.
