This organization is a new, U.S.-incorporated manufacturing platform built to serve frontier-technology industries — humanoid robotics, aerospace, agricultural technology, and healthcare — where reshoring, national security priorities, and speed-to-production are reshaping how and where hardware gets built. Backed by MISUMI Group, a global leader in manufacturing solutions and precision components, this venture combines precision machining, final assembly/test/packaging (FATP), supply chain orchestration, and engineering services into a single U.S.-based platform.

Our founding customers include leading humanoid robotics companies, and is being built from day one to grow with a broader roster of frontier-technology manufacturers as capacity comes online.

The Opportunity

Our organization is standing up its first physical footprint in Austin, Texas: an initial facility in 2026, followed by a purpose-built campus opening in 2027. Over the following three years, the operation is expected to scale from a single-customer pilot into a multi-customer production platform, with the workforce growing from a founding team into a 200-plus-person operation as volume ramps toward several thousand units a year at full scale.

We are hiring the founding SVP to lead this build from the ground up — the first executive on the ground in Austin, responsible for turning an approved capital program into a running, profitable manufacturing operation.

Career path: This role is expected to be promoted to President & CEO of the new organization in 2027, as the operation transitions from initial, single-customer production into multi-customer scale-up — contingent on hitting the facility, customer, and team-building milestones below.

What You'll Own

• Facility stand-up & scale-up: Lead commissioning of the initial Austin facility and the transition into the larger campus that follows, hitting the milestones tied to the capital plan.
• Customer delivery: Own the relationship with our founding customer and its production ramp, then lead qualification and onboarding of additional frontier-technology customers as capacity comes online.
• Operations & quality: Build out precision machining, FATP, and quality systems (FAIR, SPC, DFM) to the standard demanded by frontier-technology customers.
• Workforce build: Execute a multi-year staffing ramp from a founding team to a 200+-person workforce, combining direct hiring, a local apprenticeship/technical-college pipeline, and flexible nearshore capacity for peak demand.
• Governance & compliance: Partner with legal and security leadership to stand up the governance, security, and workplace controls required for U.S. government-adjacent manufacturing work, including export-control registration and cybersecurity certification requirements.
• P&L and reporting: Own the new organization's operating P&L and report regularly to the company Board of Directors and MISUMI's Americas Business Hub leadership on cost, schedule, and quality performance.
• Team & culture: Build the leadership bench underneath you, recruiting manufacturing and engineering leadership from Austin's robotics and advanced-manufacturing corridor.

What You Bring

• 15+ years in manufacturing operations leadership, with direct P&L ownership of a plant, business unit, or manufacturing company.
• A track record of standing up new manufacturing facilities from the ground up — greenfield or brownfield — including commissioning, hiring ramp, and production qualification.
• Deep fluency in precision manufacturing: CNC machining, final assembly/test/packaging (FATP), new product introduction (NPI), and design-for-manufacturability (DFM).
• Experience serving demanding, fast-iterating hardware customers — robotics, aerospace, defense, or similarly exacting sectors — strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with U.S. export-control and government-contracting frameworks (ITAR, CMMC) is a strong plus; willingness to build and operate within those frameworks is required.
• Comfortable operating with board-level visibility and reporting, including to an international (Japan-based) parent company.
• A builder's mindset — energized by a founding role with real ambiguity, not just running an already-established operation.

Additional Requirement

Because the organization's work is expected to support U.S. government- and defense-adjacent manufacturing programs under ITAR and related export-control frameworks, candidates must be U.S. citizens.

Location & Reporting

• Location: Remote-eligible. The SVP is not required to permanently relocate to Austin, provided they can maintain an on-site presence at the new facility for approximately 75% of working time — reflecting the hands-on demands of facility commissioning, workforce build-out, and production leadership.
• Travel: Up to 50% travel overall, covering on-site time in Austin plus trips to MISUMI's Americas Business Hub, customer sites, and Board meetings.
• Reports to: The organization's Board of Directors, with a close working relationship with MISUMI's Americas Business Hub leadership.
• Dotted-line reporting: The organization's Go-to-Market / Business Development leadership, to keep customer pipeline, commercial strategy, and new-customer qualification tightly aligned with facility capacity and delivery.

Salary Range:
$260,000 - $320,000 base salary per year, plus a variable compensation potential of between $260,000 - $320,000
