Role Overview  

The Sortation Manager is directly responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient processing (sorting/staging) of inbound volume at the Sub-HUB sort center. This role's primary focus is on ensuring volume is correctly prepared and loaded for timely dispatch to the last mile delivery stations (CAMPs). 

What You Will Do 

* Volume Flow Execution: Manages the inbound linehaul receiving process and ensures rapid, accurate sorting onto outbound vehicles destined for specific CAMPs.

* Labor Planning & Supervision: Develops and executes the daily, volume-dependent labor plan for sort associates. Manages shift schedules, time-off requests, and performance coaching.

* Safety & Quality: Maintains a safe working environment on the dock and sort floor. Oversees quality checks to minimize sortation errors that impact the downstream customer experience.

* Linehaul Oversight: Ensures all outbound vehicles are correctly loaded and dispatched according to the predetermined On-Time Departure schedule (CPTs)

* Inventory Control: Manages and tracks internal package movement and exceptions within the Sub-HUB

Basic Qualifications  

• Operational Experience: 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in warehouse, hub, or sortation center logistics.
• People & Labor Management: Direct experience creating volume-based shift plans, managing associate scheduling, and providing performance coaching.
• Linehaul & Dispatch Operations: Hands-on experience with inbound receiving, dock operations, package staging, and meeting strict Critical Pull Times (CPTs) / On-Time Departure schedules.
• Safety & Quality Standards: Proven track record of enforcing workplace safety protocols on a dock/sort floor and running quality checks to minimize sorting errors.
• Inventory Control: Proficiency in using package tracking systems, managing internal inventory flow, and resolving operational exceptions.
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or an operations-related field.
• Logistics Network Knowledge: Direct background in middle-mile sort centers, hub-and-spoke models, or last-mile delivery station (CAMP) operations.
• Process Improvement: Hands-on experience or certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous process improvement methodologies.
• Data & Systems Proficiency: Strong proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), labor planning software, and data analytics tools for volume forecasting.
