We're building Percy, the AI agent that runs financial crime investigations end to end.

Compliance teams at banks and fintechs are drowning in financial crimes investigations. Transaction volumes are surging, regulators keep raising the bar, and the work still runs on manual review queues that take hours and are stitched together from legacy vendors. We believe AI will make most of these decisions within a few years, so we built Percy to handle them. Percy learns each team's procedures and makes the same calls their analysts would: clearing false positives, escalating real risk, writing the case narrative, and documenting every decision for audit. It cuts review workloads by 70%+ and routinely catches fraud that human reviewers miss.

Percy is only possible because of the identity platform we've spent four years building underneath it. Because we own the entire identity flow, Percy resolves ambiguity at the source, running its own checks across our verification tools before a case ever reaches a human.

We're backed by QED, Index, Box Group, and Lerer Hippeau, and trusted by companies like Bilt, Nuvei, and MoonPay. We 5x'd revenue last year and plan to do it again in 2026. The team is small, senior, and ships fast.

The Role


The key moment in our sales cycle is the back-test, where we run a prospect's real data through Percy and compare the output to their current process, proving Percy's superior value. As a Sales Engineer, you'll own this moment—working closely with prospects to understand their investigations, running data through Percy, and translating results into a compelling story. You'll consult with compliance and fraud teams, build trust through sharp questions, partner with Account Executives, and develop deep expertise on how Percy outperforms competitors, reporting directly to the Head of GTM/Sales.


What You'll Do

  • Prove that Percy works. Take a prospect's data, run it through Percy, and produce clear, rigorous results that show what Percy caught, what it cleared, and how it compares to their current process.

  • Turn results into a narrative. Translate raw back-test output into a compelling, defensible story for compliance leaders, fraud teams, and technical evaluators.

  • Be the technical partner in deals. Join calls with AEs to handle technical and product depth, answer hard questions, and build credibility with sophisticated buyers.

  • Know the competition cold. Develop deep expertise in the incumbent tools and competitors we're evaluated against, and articulate exactly where and why Percy wins.

  • Handle data with care. Work with sensitive prospect data securely and correctly, partnering with our engineering team on ingestion and setup.

  • Close the loop with product. Feed patterns from back-tests and prospect conversations back to product and engineering to sharpen Percy and the sales motion.

  • Build the playbook. Help turn the back-test from a bespoke effort into a repeatable, scalable part of how we sell.

What We're Looking For

  • 1–4 years of experience in a sales engineering, solutions, consulting, analyst, or customer-facing role. We're happy to hire someone early in their career who's sharp and hungry.

  • Strong communicator. You can sit with a compliance or fraud leader, understand how they work, and make a result land clearly and persuasively. This is the core of the job.

  • Analytical and rigorous. You're comfortable digging into data and you sweat the accuracy of a back-test, because a deal rides on it.

  • Owns the outcome. Detail-oriented, organized, and motivated by winning the deal, you treat each back-test like it's yours to nail.

  • Thrives in ambiguity. You're energized by an early-stage environment where you help build the playbook rather than inherit one.

Nice to Have

  • Technical aptitude. You don't need to be an engineer, but comfort with SQL, scripting, or data tooling lets you run back-tests faster and more powerfully. A real plus, not a requirement.

  • Experience in fintech or financial services (no fraud/compliance background required, you'll learn the domain here).

  • A point of view on where AI is headed in regulated industries.
