About the Role:​

As a remote Senior Mechanical Engineer (HVAC), you’ll manage a high volume of work orders daily, overseeing licensed technicians in the field. You’ll review diagnoses, validate scopes, and ensure quality control before work moves forward. You’ll act as the technical gatekeeper—flagging issues, clarifying scope, and pushing back on anything that doesn’t meet company standards.
 
You won’t be scheduling, dispatching, or talking to residents. Your job is to speak con​tractor-to-contractor—to challenge bids, clarify repairs, and keep jobs moving with speed and precision.
 
This role is ideal for a licensed technician who’s ready to step out of the field and grow into a tech-enabled operations role.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a high volume of HVAC work orders each day (20+), across multiple job sites
  • Review technician reports, photos, an​d videos to verify diagnoses and spot issues early
  • Scope jobs accurately—catching misdiagnoses, inflated bids, or missing components
  • Provide clear, confident direction to licensed HVAC contractors—pushing back when needed
  • Own communication across the job: from the field to internal operations to project wrap-up
  • Uphold company quality standards and act as the final gatekeeper before approval and billing
  • Use company internal platform and documentation tools to track job progress and ensure completion
     

Requirements:

  • 3–5+ years of hands-on HVAC experience in residential service, repair, or diagnostics
  • Strong field troubleshooting and diagnostic ability across unit types (split systems, gas furnaces, heat pumps, R22/R410A systems, etc.)
  • Experience reading and interpreting system tags, data plates, and field photos to validate technician findings
  • Comfort identifying misdiagnoses, inflated bids, or unnecessary replacements
  • Prior experience working directly with technicians or reviewing real-time work orders
  • Clear, confident verbal communication—you need to push back with precision, not aggression
  • Willingness to trade fieldwork for full-time remote employment
  • Fast learning curve with new software—this role relies on a custom internal platform, not off-the-shelf tools
  • Highly organized; able to manage dozens of open work orders simultaneously across multiple locations
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written); clear and concise communicator

 

Compensation & Benefits (to be provided by Offshore Launch):

  • $800–$1500/month, depending on experience
  • $500 bonus at 90-days
  • 13th month pay
  • HMO coverage (including dependents)
  • 10 Days of PTO, not including holidays 
  • 100% remote, work from home
  • Annual continuing education budget
