We're building Percy, the AI agent that runs financial crime investigations end to end.

Compliance teams at banks and fintechs are drowning in financial crimes investigations. Transaction volumes are surging, regulators keep raising the bar, and the work still runs on manual review queues that take hours and are stitched together from legacy vendors. We believe AI will make most of these decisions within a few years, so we built Percy to handle them. Percy learns each team's procedures and makes the same calls their analysts would: clearing false positives, escalating real risk, writing the case narrative, and documenting every decision for audit. It cuts review workloads by 70%+ and routinely catches fraud that human reviewers miss.

Percy is only possible because of the identity platform we've spent four years building underneath it. Because we own the entire identity flow, Percy resolves ambiguity at the source, running its own checks across our verification tools before a case ever reaches a human.

We're backed by QED, Index, Box Group, and Lerer Hippeau, and trusted by companies like Bilt, Nuvei, and MoonPay. We 5x'd revenue last year and plan to do it again in 2026. The team is small, senior, and ships fast.

The Role

As our first dedicated deployments hire, you will translate customer risk and compliance policies into a robust, repeatable Percy configuration, working closely with BSA officers and financial crime teams to turn their investigations and policies into actionable agent behavior—defining when Percy triggers RFIs or offboarding, tuning alert triage logic, and setting thresholds that meet risk tolerance and regulatory scrutiny. Ideal candidates have both owned a financial crime program as an accountable officer and possess the ability to build in rules, thresholds, and system logic, offering a unique opportunity to shape how compliance can be both effective and practical.

What You'll Do

  • Configure risk and compliance policy into the system. Guide customers through setting up and iterating Percy's agent harness, translating their regulatory obligations and operational preferences into a finely tuned configuration. This is the core of the work, and it requires comfort with rules-and-thresholds thinking, not just policy advice.

  • Architect the compliance program around Percy. Map a customer's existing investigation workflows, find the gaps and inefficiencies, and design how Percy improves the broader program, RFI-vs-offboard logic, alert triage, new SOPs that Percy now makes possible.

  • Partner with sales pre-sale. Join deals to give compliance and technical credibility, scope deployments, and help prospects see what Percy makes possible before they sign. You're the person in the room a skeptical BSA officer believes.

  • Be the trusted peer in the room. Earn BSA officers' confidence because you've held the seat, you speak their language, and you can credibly advise on how comparable institutions are solving the same problems. The framing that lands with bank buyers is defensibility, auditability, and governance, not automation.

  • Co-build the product. Be the field's voice inside the company, in the loop with product and engineering on what gets built and how, shaping the roadmap from the patterns you see across deployments.

  • Build the engine. Codify the calibration templates, playbooks, and systems that turn one-off deployments into a repeatable motion, and grow the function (and team) around it as we scale.

What We're Looking For

  • You've owned a financial crime compliance program, not just advised on one. AML, BSA, EDD, or sanctions, at a bank, fintech, or crypto platform, where you were personally accountable for outcomes, ideally through a regulatory exam. We care about earned authority and real hands-on experience more than a long list of frameworks.

  • You think in systems, not just narratives. You can take "we're conservative on crypto MSBs" and turn it into concrete logic, thresholds, and decision rules. If you've configured a transaction monitoring system, tuned detection logic, or built a tool that automated a compliance decision, that's the signal we want.

  • You read a room and build trust fast. You can walk into a customer's compliance team, quickly understand how they actually operate, and lay out a credible path to better. You listen well and ask sharp questions.

  • You want to build the thing, not just deploy it. The strongest people for this role have felt the frustration of a compliance program that spends more time defending itself than fighting crime, and they want to build what fixes it. Genuine hunger to be hands-on at an early-stage company matters more here than seniority.

  • Forward-deployed temperament. You own the customer outcome, you're comfortable with ambiguity, and you'd rather build the playbook than follow one. This is an early-stage role, that should excite you, not worry you.

Nice to Have

  • Time embedded on the vendor side (regtech, compliance platform), ideally where you owned deployments into regulated institutions rather than advising from arm's length.

  • Hands-on familiarity with alert-generating platforms (NICE Actimize, Verafin, ComplyAdvantage, or similar).

  • Experience as a BSA officer, interim or permanent.

  • Background with community banks, regional banks, or mid-market fintechs.

  • Crypto / VASP compliance depth.

  • Comfort navigating light technical coordination with customer IT, database connections, data integrations, environment setup. (This is a small part of the role and can be supported by our team; we don't expect you to lead integrations.)

Why Join Footprint

  • Massive impact, fast: You'll work on projects that shape company direction, not analysis that gets shelved.

  • Own meaningful work: From day one, you'll have direct ownership over strategic initiatives that drive the business forward.

  • Real growth opportunity: Promotion timelines depend on performance: the harder you work, the quicker you'll get promoted.

  • Winning team and culture: We're a fast-moving, no-BS team that likes to win (and have fun doing it).
