An exciting opportunity has opened within Optiver's Operations team for a Trading Operations Analyst. Working closely with our Trading, Tech and Business Support teams you will play an important role in supporting the firm's daily off-exchange trading activities and ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently. 

This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment has strong attention to detail and takes pride in delivering accurate high-quality work. You will build strong relationships across different teams solve problems through practical solutions and take ownership of your responsibilities. 

We're looking for someone who takes pride in getting things done. You'll be comfortable working through operational challenges and taking ownership of tasks from start to finish. Whether it's resolving an issue, investigating a discrepancy or helping the team through a busy trading day you'll be proactive when problems arise and motivated to help get them sorted.

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 
You main responsibility is to ensure the smooth execution, confirmation and reconciliation of our off-exchange trades, combining operational excellence with continuous improvement and automation to improve controls or efficiencies around these processes. 

 
Trading Operations 

  • Manage critical off-exchange trading workflows across a range of asset classes including derivatives and cash equities. 
  • Support the full trade lifecycle from trade capture and reconciliation through to confirmation and settlement. 
  • Monitor trading and post-trade activity to ensure issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner. 
  • Ensure trades are booked accurately and positions are cleared correctly and on time. 
  • Investigate trade and settlement breaks while working closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive resolution. 

 

Process Improvement and Automation 

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes that reduce operational risk and increase efficiency. 
  • Build automation and internal tools to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort. 
  • Improve the quality and flow of operational data to support a growing business. 
  • Explore and apply AI-driven solutions where they can deliver meaningful improvements to productivity controls and scalability. 

 

WHO YOU ARE: 

  • 2+ years’ experience in a trade operations/support, finance or accounting role 
  • A relevant degree – e.g. Finance, Commerce/Business, Actuarial etc 
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates a strong sense of urgency when managing competing priorities. 
  • Committed to continuous improvement with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvement 
  • Exceptional attention to detail 
  • Experience or strong interest with Python, SQL and AI  
  • Genuine interest in financial markets  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities 
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and relationship building skills 
  • Korean, Japanese, or Mandarin language skills highly favoured
