Mission

TAR’s mission is to power intelligence for the world. We are building the world’s first off-grid power plant for data centers powered by renewable technologies.

We firmly believe AI should be built in the US for the benefit of all people. For that, power must be fast, clean and scalable. We are singularly focused on delivering GW-scale power faster than anyone has ever done, by rethinking every layer of the stack.

To deliver on this vision, TAR manufactures, deploys and operates off-grid energy assets with a renewable backbone. We vertically integrate to solve every bottleneck, from racking systems to power electronics to dispatch algorithms to on-site construction.

Leave your mark by powering the future of civilisation-scale energy infrastructure.

We hire people who care deeply about this problem space. If that is you, please apply!

Company

We are a team of seasoned operators run by founders who previously scaled a company to over 80 people and $350M in annual sales. We know how to operate and we move fast.

We are working directly with one of the largest compute providers to make our vision come true and plan to deploy 5GWs by 2028.

TAR is both a hardware and software company, we are building out massive, critical, physical infrastructure.

We operate on…

  • High ownership. High Agency. Own project end-to-end. Great people don’t need to be managed.

  • Speed. We achieve great things on incredible timelines. We always push ourselves to go faster.

  • First principles. No ego. No hierarchy. Challenge every assumption.

  • Passion. Solving the energy problem is one of the largest challenges that faces the world now and in the future. We put in long hours and hard work to solve this.

About the role

As an extension of the founders, you work on the hardest challenges in the business alongside them and make sure nothing operational slows the team down. You are the high-agency generalist who turns ambiguous, low-structure problems into shipped outcomes: owning special projects end-to-end, multiplying the output of our engineering and technical leadership, and picking up whatever needs an owner. Your days are varied. Project delivery one day, a financing workstream the next, standing up a new function from zero, unblocking an engineer, or firefighting a last-minute supplier problem. There is no playbook and no hand-holding.

Responsibilities

  • Project Delivery: make sure multi-GW projects get delivered on time and help fill in any gaps alongside our construction, procurement, and development teams.

  • Special Projects: own anything hard end-to-end, from ambiguous brief to delivered result, like standing up new functions from zero to one and owning them until they’re ready to hand off.

  • Engineering leverage: maximize the effectiveness of our engineering and technical leadership by removing blockers, handling logistics, and coordinating deployment and infrastructure tests.

  • Financing: support complex equity financing and project financing transactions involving billions of dollars of CAPEX.

  • Hiring: help hire the team from junior to executives, and help form company culture.

  • Operations: run daily office and operational topics independently.

  • Firefighting: troubleshoot the daily problems that come up, like finding a last-minute replacement supplier or driving to the customer site to solve a contractor problem.

Qualifications

  • 1-5 years of professional experience in high-performance environments: startups, consulting, banking/finance, engineering, military, or a strong tech-adjacent generalist background.

  • Very high agency, and a track record of thriving in unclear, low-structure situations.

  • Demonstrated ability to own and deliver complex projects end-to-end.

  • Strong organization, sound judgment, and a bias for action.

Nice to have

  • Experience operating in or around a hardware, robotics, or deep-tech startup.

  • A track record of standing up new functions or processes from zero.

  • Comfort working alongside engineers and technical leadership.

Salary and Benefits

  • Total compensation: $200-390K/year

    • Cash: $100-140K

    • Equity: $100-250K/year at TAR’s most recent valuation

  • Up to $15K Relocation bonus

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Health, Dental, Vision insurance

  • $1K monthly stipend for meals
